I just read your thoughtful "Thanks" note and was touched by your sincere focus on Wendy, Family, Science, Your Past, Music, the A.C.A., Writing, Advocates and Being Alive.
I am at a loss for words, believe it or not, as to what to say to you about all this since you say it all so well. I simply want you to know that I think of you and Wendy everyday with so much love.
Sean, each day is a gift for all of us ,and I pry that there are many more "gift days" ahead for you and Wendy to live and love. Mary
Thank you for sharing, Sean. Your courage, resilience, and willingness to share your vulnerability are inspiring. I am thankful for you and Wendy. You mentioned the benefit of listening to music daily. Hopefully, you are playing it daily as well. Happy Thanksgiving, friend. Till next time.
First, Ughh. I want this to sound somewhat positive and good and mostly hope it doesn't come off as "self" but thanks. Thank YOU. I have followed your blog after not seeing you for what, 40+ years? I remember some of you very fondly and remain very dear friends with Andi B. I also recover a day at a time from alcoholism (I don't suffer today) The very nature of that centers in my mind and my thinking. The drink is my solution. I have found it possible for 29 years, to not pick one up. One, day, at , a, time. The gift I have been given is that of abundant compassion, joy, selflessness (somedays I fail miserably but opportunities are many!) my children, my family of all origins, and a day at a time, freedom from fear. While I will never presume to compare this to the fear you are facing, the fear of drinking and falling into the abyss that is active alcoholism hold me in good stead. There is no cure, but there is a solution.
You remind me that every little second is a gift we may not have gotten. Surviving Matt Blaus famous endless party:) You were there?? (attempt at humor) so many survivals. All we have in this life is really each other. You have a Wendy:) What I would not give for that, and how I know you have her because you were going to need her and because I suspect you deserve her and each other.

I do what I can, Im thinking of you today and wishing you endless joy. Thank you for sharing your story with us. As Ive said, if Maine becomes a destination, please come. Many blessings to you both. GO SCIENCE FASTER FASTER. JOYOUS LOVING THANKSGIVING TO YOU
Thanks Maud. It seems many of us overdid things. I’m glad you’re free of them. I am 33 years drug free at this point! We will be up to Maine at some point and I will reach out for sure!
